Netflix has come out with many bingeable TV shows, from Stranger Things to Ginny and Georgia. Beef is definitely included in this category.

Beef is a comedy about two people who get into a road rage accident which eventually brings trouble into both their lives.

Amy Lau (Comedian Ali Wong) is a successful entrepreneur who lives a wealthy life with her husband and daughter. Danny Cho (Steven Yeun, The Walking Dead) is the opposite. He is a contractor, struggling to build his company, dealing with the aftermath of his cousin’s criminal activity.

When these random strangers have an angry encounter on the road, no one could ever predict the domino effect that will follow their lives.

Although the show starts out pretty normal, with Danny out for revenge for the road rage incident, it quickly turns around. There was not one point in which I knew what was going to happen next.

While this road rage drama is occurring, there are also side plotlines with Amy’s husband, George, and Danny’s brother, Paul.

The 10 episode TV show is very encapsulating, never leaving you bored during the 30 minute episodes. The show ends with a very big plot twist as well.

Personally, I enjoyed the show because of its unusual plotline. The show is also Asian-led, which makes it more appealing to me. I was very glad to see an Asian dominated cast without stereotypes in a Netflix show. The show also deals with social problems as well like racism and sexism.

The only thing I disliked about the show was the ending. I felt as if the last episode was very rushed and the writers tried to wrap up the show very quickly.

Overall I rate Beef an 8/10. It was exciting, entertaining and funny. I recommend this show for people who want something different in their TV shows while wanting drama and comedy.

Go binge Beef on Netflix!
