Fall is the perfect season to visit Patterson’s Fruit Farm for their pumpkins, apples and some other amenities. Recently I went to their location off of Caves Road in Chesterland. It has a shop and walking path; the other location off Mulberry Road in Chesterland has other amenities, such as a corn maze, apple picking, and pumpkin painting.

The shop offers apples, apple fritters, pies, apple cider, and other sweets. The apple fritters are delicious; they taste like apple glazed donuts. I was unable to taste the pies. The apple cider is one of my favorite things about Patterson’s.

Other than the shop, there are stands that offer food. One has fresh lemonade and kettle corn, while another sells mac ‘n cheese and burgers. Past the stands, towards the road, there are rows of pumpkins. If you walk towards the shop and take a right, there is a nature path for walking. The only costs are if your are buying anything; otherwise it is free. There is no admission fee.

The strength of this location is that there is a lot to do, but a weakness is that they are very busy. Someone I went with wanted to buy a pie, but the line spanned half the shop and we did not have the time.

Overall, I suggest people visit Patterson’s before autumn ends for a delicious afternoon experience.
